- A three-person scientific team will develop nutritional technologies at the new European operation.
- Enterprise Ireland support and collaboration with Teagasc Moorepark underpin the County Cork research base.
CoreFX Ingredients, a nutritional technology company based in Evanston, Illinois, announced on September 15 that it had established CoreNhanced Biotechnology Limited in County Cork, Ireland. The operation will serve as its European headquarters for scientific innovation, technology development and commercial expansion, with support from Enterprise Ireland and collaboration with Teagasc Moorepark.
The Irish team starts with three scientists, led by Cara Maloney, whose background includes drug delivery, biomaterials, formulation development and analytical methods. Trevor Dunne, managing director of Europe, will lead customer partnerships and commercial expansion, drawing on more than two decades of experience across food, flavor and nutrition.
Research will focus on how bioactive molecules perform during manufacturing and throughout shelf life, as well as within the body. The work supports development of the proprietary CoreNhanced platform and customer formulation projects. For nutraceutical manufacturers, the announced capability is applied research and ingredient technology support rather than a new disclosed production line.
The European operation complements existing U.S. activities. CoreFX lists manufacturing facilities in Orangeville, Illinois, and Big Bend, Wisconsin, while Enterprise Ireland has supported its European strategy and research collaborations since 2023. The company selected Ireland for access to food science expertise, research partners and scientific talent, giving the new team a base for work with customers across Europe.
“Ireland has become one of the world’s leading centers for food science, biotechnology, and innovation.”
